About Advancement Trail
Advancement Trail was created by an Assistant Scoutmaster in Maryland who wanted an easier, faster way to help scouts advance through the ranks. While Scoutbook remains the official recordkeeping tool, Advancement Trail was designed as a supplement — giving leaders a clear, visual snapshot of progress and helping them plan meetings, campouts, and rank advancement more efficiently.
This platform is made by noculture LLC, a Maryland-based communications company that supports small nonprofits and private organizations with strategy, messaging, and digital tools. The same spirit of service that drives scouting also drives our work — practical tools, clear communication, and a belief in community.
Advancement Trail is built and maintained by volunteers and is currently in its pilot phase. Features are expanding regularly — always with scout leaders, scouts, and parents in mind.
Where is Advancement Trail hosted?
Advancement Trail is hosted with a U.S.-based provider that operates its own data center with 24/7 monitoring, redundant power, and restricted physical access. Our hosting partner offers a 99.9% uptime guarantee and has a long track record of stable service.
How do you protect our data?
We take data protection seriously. All access to Advancement Trail is encrypted over HTTPS, access to the application is password-protected, and only designated troop leaders and administrators can see your troop’s data. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
No online system can be 100% secure, but we are committed to following security best practices, monitoring for issues, and improving our protections over time.
